Places to camp near Cairns, Australia

So, you’re looking for places to camp near Cairns? Well, you’re in the right spot, all of the sites on this list are within three and a half hours drive of Cairns.

After I did posts just like this for Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne I realised that you guys really dig these kind of posts and I thought, well, why not just keep going!

There’s no way I can get around and review all of these places personally in the near future, so this is more about doing some of that legwork for you and making it easier for you to choose the place that suits your needs.

All of these places have either been recommended or they looked good to me when I was researching and I would want to head there myself.

I’ll try and make sure there is a mixture of both caravan parks and free/offroad/remote camps so that there is hopefully something to suit everyone.

Keep in mind that depending on what traffic was doing when I googled distance, drive time may vary slightly, but all the places on this list came in at under three and a half hours drive for me.
