Looking for audiobooks for kids? This is a list of all my kids current faves that we have found on Audible.

You can become a member of Audible for about $12 a month and you get one free credit a month to use for any single audiobook. I don’t actually ever buy books outside of the credits I get so it’s pretty affordable.

You can play the stories from your phone on the Audible app and it will play through the speakers in your car if you have bluetooth.

Nothing beats a story, preferably a long one, when it comes to taking some of the sting out of a road trip with small humans.

I have a couple of learn your ABC and learn to count books too. That way I can gaze out the windscreen in silence for hours and not feel guilty because the kids are actually learning stuff! Lazy parenting alert, haha.

Some of my favourite audiobooks for kids so are listed below, keeping in mind that our kids are 3 and 4 so I search in the under 5’s category.

Buddha At Bedtime – Dharmachari Nagaraja

I looove this one! It’s definitely one of my favourite favourites. I was totally engrossed from start to finish along with the kids.

Just a heads up, the intro is very long and goes into a whole lotta info about Buddhism. While you may be interested my kids weren’t and I skipped to the stories.

Just keep in mind that the audiobook goes for over three hours, so once you skip to the stories you still have over two and a half hours of actual story time and then it automatically starts from where you left off each time so you only have to skip it once 🙂

Publisher’s Summary –

“Building on the age-old art of storytelling, this beautiful audiobook retells 20 ancient Buddhist tales in a way that is thoroughly fun and accessible to children. The stories will transport kids into an imaginary world of enlightenment and discovery where they will meet delightful characters and discover an easy-to-understand Buddhist message – one that will help them think about how they can apply values such as patience, perseverance, honesty and generosity to their own lives.”

I’ll keep updating this list as I come across new stories that I like. The link below will take you straight to the Audible children’s book collection.
